I remember the day two old guys in dark suits and hats, gave me the boat. It was 1960, I was nineteen. I had just walked out of my apartment and my relationship. I had nowhere to go and twelve bucks and change in my purse. A boat big enough to sleep on, regardless of how broken down she might be, well, that was just too tempting to pass up. Broken down was an understatement. She was sinking. I climbed aboard determined to resurrect her.
But it wasn't long before the Mist B Haven's past began to catch up with her, and me.

I loved the book! With Martha's writing I was able to picture the characters making the book enjoyable. The book was a quick easy read filled with adventure and mystery. I know the author and very proud of this accomplishment! Martha's life is quite an adventure and she keeps adding new avenues. Take a chance & read it you won't be disappointed. We both have read this book and neither of us were able to put it down. This book captured our interest at the beginning and has yet to let it go. Looking for a sequel.
I loved it! It was a great beach read that I was intrigued by from the start. I didn't know much about the boating life and it was fun to learn more about it. I enjoyed the characters and the story very much. Hope you are planning to write more Martha! I'll be buying the next one too. -)
Nothing to dislike. Entertainment. Very well written, off beat.
Very predictable.
What a fun, quirky combination of adventure and mystery! I loved the (perhaps foolhardy) can-do spirit of the main character- willing to try anything, fix anything, go anywhere in a boat that held more secrets than she could have imagined. When is the sequel coming out?! K
From the first page I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-moving, seaside adventure story of a naive, yet fast-learning and gutsy young woman setting out on her own. From the get-go she is guided and challenged by interesting characters and a few mobsters, too. Hoping for another book, because I want to follow her as she cruises up and down the coast in the Mist B Haven.
Read while diving at Pirates Point. Great characters and story. Took some twists and turns. A combination character study and who done it.
Martha most people live in Michigan and retire to the Caribbean. Leave it to you to enjoy the reverse.
